Adrienne Schulte

Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Adrienne Schulte began her ballet training with Marcia Dale Weary at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, PA at the age of seven. She continued her studies at the Paris Opera Ballet School in France from 1996 to 1998 before joining the American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company in 1998.

Adrienne joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in  January of 1999.  In 2007 she moved to London and danced as a First Artist with the English National Ballet for two seasons. Adrienne rejoined American Ballet Theatre in September 2011. Her roles in the Company include Helena in The Dream, Katia in A Month in the Country, Two Swans and Lead Czardas in Swan Lake, Three Shades soloist in La Bayadere, the Lead Gypsy and Flower Girls in Don Quixote, Bianca and a Carnival Dancer in Othello, and leading roles in Duets, Black Tuesday, Dark Elegies, Drink To Me Only Within Thine Eyes, workwithinwork, as well as roles in all of the Company’s full-length ballets. She created Red Riding Hood in Alexei Ratmansky’s the Sleeping Beauty.

Adrienne retired from American Ballet Theatre in July 2015. She received her Teaching Certification with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and has been a guest teacher with CPYB, Ballet Academy East, Eglevsky Ballet, Prodigy Dance and Performing Arts Centre, and Dallas Ballet Center. Adrienne was on faculty during the 2016-17 academic year at the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, Children’s Division and again for the 2021-22 academic year with the JKO Pre- Professional Division. She is also a returning faculty member for Kaatsbaan Ballet Summer Intensives.

Some screen credits during her time with American Ballet Theatre include PBS Great Performances: The Dream (2004) and PBS Great Performances: Swan Lake (2005).  Adrienne is also very proud to be included alongside her GBA faculty in being awarded Outstanding Faculty by YAGP NY Semi-Finals in 2023 and Outstanding Classical Coach at the Universal Ballet Competition Finals in 2024.
