Education: Sara Knight is a graduate of England's Royal Ballet School, an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (A.R.A.D.), graduate of the Royal Ballet School Teachers' Training Course (R.B.S. Dip. TTC.) under the direction of Valerie Adams, and first British graduate of Russia's Vaganova (Kirov) Ballet Academy since its founding in 1738 under imperial decree, a heritage and legacy in the world of ballet spanning 268 years. Knight is fluent in English, French and Russian, and has been featured in print, radio and television. Knight is a recipient of the Royal Ballet Special Award for Excellence personally awarded by Dame Ninette de Valois, and one of four dancers selected by the Royal Ballet School for a command performance for His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, on his birthday in 1988. John Field CBE(Commander of the British Empire) and Ann Heaton Field (former Principal Dancer of the Royal ballet) selected Knight as a member of their team to demonstrate the new British Ballet Syllabus developed and approved for dissemination to ballet instructors and examiners throughout the United Kingdom prior to its usage and implementation in their classical ballet classes.

Sara Knight was a member of the Eifman Ballet Theatre, "one of Russia's prime cultural exports" (Arts, The Guardian, UK), Soloist with Leningrad State Ballet Theatre and The Russian Ballet of St. Petersburg. In the West, Knight danced with England's Northern Ballet Theatre, and was Principal Dancer with European Ballet of London, Configuration Dance USA, and the Rebecca Rice Dance Company in Boston USA. In May 2006, Knight was enticed out of retirement to perform in the Bank of America Celebrity Series for Rebecca Rice, Director and Choreographer of the Rebecca Rice Dance Company. The Boston Globe critic, Richard Dyer, reported, "The most striking dancer was Sara Knight in 'Indigo' haunted by Martha Graham solos.

Master Teacher Sara Knight has been invited to teach world-wide to pass on the legacy generously invested in her: The 14th International Festival in France; Boston Ballet Company and the Boston Ballet School at the invitation of its Director, Anna Marie Holmes; Boston Conservatory; Laban Centre London; Arts Educational School of the United Kingdom; England's Northern Ballet Theatre; Ballet Mistress for London's Central School of Ballet; Assistant Artistic Director of the Ballet School of Stamford; and Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Greenwich Ballet Academy in the Greenwich Arts Center.

Founder and Artistic Director of the Greenwich Ballet Academy In 2006, Knight founded the Greenwich Ballet Academy with Michael Shannon, Choreographer, Principal Danseur Noble, Professor of Choreography, Master Teacher and Chairman of Faculty at the Greenwich Ballet Academy. "Our goal is to prepare students for a career in ballet, international ballet competition and work with choreographers," says Knight. "We audition and identify each student's unique gifts and talents to cultivate and nurture them within a comprehensive curriculum of classical and contemporary ballet, modern dance, repertoire, folk and character dance, male technique, pointe, pas de deux, and Benesh Notation." "Students are trained by Master Teachers only," says Knight, "Principal Dancers and Soloists from internationally acclaimed companies such as Russia's Bolshoi and Kirov Ballets, England's Royal Ballet, the Vienna State Opera Ballet, Berlin's Deutsche Oper Ballet, and the great American companies, to reinvest the rich history, shared international heritage and legacy of ballet invested in us by so many in our lives in future generations of ballet stars.
