MEDICAL CERTIFICATION

Students will not be admitted to class without a Medical Certification from their physician stating that the student is able to participate fully in the program. Ballet requires a strong, rested, healthy mind and body sustained by healthy lifestyle choices and good nutrition. A new Medical Certification is required at the start of each school year and after any extended illness. We do not refund tuition after the start of class.

NON-DISCRIMINATION

The Greenwich Ballet Academy is a not-for-profit organization. The Academy admits students of any race, sex, religion, national or ethnic origin and does not discriminate on the basis of such in administering its admissions policies and educational programs. Students are admitted to the Academy based solely on their merit and talents for ballet.

ZERO TOLERANCE

We maintain a zero tolerance policy toward any substance, legal or illegal, which could endanger our students and faculty, including cigarettes, drugs and alcohol and use of such will result in immediate expulsion from the Academy. A Student exhibiting eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia may be dismissed from the program if the disorder is not resolved within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the student's physician.

A successful relationship between faculty and students is based upon mutual trust, honesty, respect and an ongoing dialogue. The Academy strives to maintain open communication with our parents regarding their child's progress and the school's policies, procedures and programs. Parent meetings are held frequently throughout the school year to share information, solicit input, and discuss volunteer opportunities.

The faculty of the Academy is always available to meet with students and their parents to discuss matters of mutual interests.  We encourage those who are interested to do so to set up an appointment directly with the faculty.

ATTENDANCE
In order to maintain the highest professional level of training, students at the Greenwich Ballet Academy are expected to attend all classes except when ill or injured.  Students who exceed the allowable number of excused absences as listed below will not be able to participate in Academy performances or examinations.  The allowable absences for the semester are:

Pre-Academy: 6

We expect students, parents or guardians to notify the Artistic Director, before the start of class, of any absence. Ms. Knight can be reached by phone at 617-240-1962, or by email at Sara@saraknight.net. Please remember that a student's absence impacts the entire class.

Please note that studio dress rehearsals, technical rehearsals and theater dress rehearsals are mandatory for all students participating in any Academy performance. Students who miss any one of these crucial rehearsals will not be permitted to participate in the performance.

WITHDRAWAL
