Miss Anya Ivanova began her ballet studies at the Perm Ballet Academy in the former Soviet Union. Upon graduation she was made principal dancer with the Cheliabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater.
At the invitation of the Donetsk State Opera and Ballet Theater, she joined their ranks as prima ballerina. While touring the eastern United States, Miss Ivanova decided to make America her new home. She has been a featured guest artist and ballet mistress with numerous ballet companies throughout the United States.
Noted for her lyrical style, Miss Ivanova has performed most of the great classical ballets roles, including Swan Lake, Giselle, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and is a former partner of Greenwich Ballet Academy’s own Director, Michael Shannon. Her repertoire also includes many contemporary works by such renowned choreographers as Daniel Baudendistel, Leslie Browne, Robert LaFosse, Scott Jovovich and Matthew Neenan.
